Sculptures in Clay
For many years I lived on the Pacific Coast in British Columbia, where mountains rose out of the Pacific Ocean, seen as ancient, observant monoliths.
Clay is a malleable sculpting medium, which lent itself to be part of a flexible process, allowing interplay between intuition and randomness.

Following a pilgrimage to Giverny Monet’s Garden and the Musee Rodin, Kathryn merged the Giverny Garden photographs with the photos of hands from August Rodin’s sculptures. Rodin’s powerfully executed hands reach out to nature, creating a sense of universal oneness, unity. Monet and Rodin were close friends. Photos exhibited at the Emilia Douglas Gallery 2015.
